3 THINGS TO KNOW AS A BELIEVER

Faith Is a Journey
When you respond with faith to the good news of Jesus, changes begin to unfold. First and foremost, the Holy Spirit dwells within your heart, serving as the catalyst for many more positive, transformative developments to come. The Bible states that you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) and that you have been born again (John 3:3). With the Spirit of God and the life of God now actively working within you (Romans 8:9-11), you truly embody this new beginning.

You Are Made Righteous
When you believe that Jesus gave His life on the cross for your sins and that He rose from the dead, empowering you to live, you are aligned with God. Romans 5:1-2 states, “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.” This signifies that you are forgiven and cleansed (1 John 1:8-9), and that all guilt has been completely lifted from your life (Psalm 103:12).

The new life that you have received from God is like a seed that grows when properly cared for [Matthew 4:1-9]. The way you think, feel, make decisions, and relate to others will be transformed as you grow in your relationship with Jesus, allowing Him to direct your life.
3 THINGS YOU WANT TO DO AS A
NEW BELIEVER

Establish Regular Personal Time with the Lord
In order to deepen your relationship with Jesus, it is essential to dedicate time to Him. This includes both prayer and Bible reading. As you engage in these practices, be open to the Holy Spirit speaking to you, guiding you, and interacting with you.
*Prayer is essentially a conversation with God; He desires for you to communicate with Him.
*You will learn to listen for His gentle voice within you and to follow His guidance and direction.
We highly recommend setting aside time each day for prayer and scripture reading. Additionally, starting your Bible journey with the New Testament is a wise choice.

Become Baptized by Water & Holy Spirit
Water baptism is the next step for you and is an important, biblical part of following Jesus. It symbolically shows others that your old life is dead and buried; you have been raised to new life in Him and will follow Him for the rest of your life. Just as Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan, it is adequate for new believers to become baptized and receive the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the guide and comforter Jesus promised to leave upon His accent to the Throne. The relationship Christ had with His Disciples while he was present with them, is exact relationship Christ was to have indwelling on the inside of us.

Connect with a Local Church
Becoming involved in a church community is essential for your journey in following Jesus. Surrounding yourself with fellow Christians is one of the most effective ways to learn and observe how to live out your faith in today’s world. Being in the company of other believers offers fellowship, encouragement, and a supportive space to ask questions or engage in discussions about your faith. *Ecclesiastes 4:9-12**.
